How to setup your IMAP Email on a Apple iPhone
The following steps will teach you how to setup your Cloud Heroes E-Mail account on your Apple iPhone, using the IMAP protocol.
On your iPhone, click the settings icon.
Then scroll down to “Mail, Contacts and Calendars”
Under the “Accounts” section, you will need to tap “Add Account”
Then the choose “Other” under the account types.
Then tap ‘Add Mail Account’
On the next screen, you will need to enter some information regarding your account.
Name: can be anything (e.g. YOUR NAME) Email: This will be the email address of the account that you are setting up. Password: (as previously provided) Description: can be anything (e.g. YOUR EMAIL)
Once you are happy with the details above, tap Next.
On this screen, you will need to enter some additional settings to enable your phone to pull down mail from the server.
For the account type, make sure that IMAP is highlighted blue as show above.
Incoming Mail Server: This will be mail.”your domain name”
User Name: This will be your email address
Password: (as provided and already entered)
Outgoing Mail Server: This will be mail.”your domain name”
Host Name: mail.YOUR DOMAIN
User Name: YOUR EMAIL
Password: (as provided)
Once you have filled out the above information, tap Next
If ‘Cannot Verify Server Identity’ message appears tap ‘Details’ and then “Trust”.
Verification may take some time and you might see more than one message.
Once the account is set up, you will need to select it by clicking on its name. Then clicking on the account name again.
Under Outgoing Mail Server:
Click the SMTP option (should be the only one), then click on the server listed under ‘Primary Server’
Check that ‘Use SSL’ is turned off (white) and the Server Port is 25
Once you have finished, tap “Done” and it will verify the server details.
Tap Account (to go back), then Advanced.
Under Incoming Settings
Check that ‘Use SSL’ is turned off (white) and the Server Port is 143.
You will also need to make sure that in the field labeled “IMAP Path Prefix” that you enter “INBOX” as this will make sure that emails sent from your phone, will sync to the correct folder on your PC and server.
To finish, tap Account (to go back) and then tap Done
